Recycling
This year we are continuing our recycling and upping the amount of recyclable materials.
In our guest house area we recycle:
- Glass.
- Batteries.
- Light bulbs.
- Electrical & Electronic equipment.
- Used cooking oil.
WHY?
WHY?
1)To protect the environment.
2)To help save energy and natural resources.
3)To lower costs – create new jobs.
NEGATIVE – POSITIVE ‘FIRSTS’ FOR GREECE
We create 5.770.000 tons rubbish/year.
We bury approximately 4.500.000 tons.
Rubbish Composition: 28% paper, 13% plastic, 4% electric & electronic devices, 3.5% glass, 3.5% metal, 43.8% organic.
We recycle: 17% of our rubbish and that puts us in the last place within Europe. 60% of that is paper, 1.5-2% organic >50% electrical & electronic devices, 10% plastic, 30-35% glass, 35-40% metal.
We are the holders: of the last place in Europe with regard to recycling, and the first place in lightbulb recycling!
THAT'S WHY WE DON'T THROW ANYTHING AWAY
